You are not alone.

To put your thoughts and emotions out for all to see is an extremely vulnerable experience. We have been conditioned to believe that showing our emotions is a sign of weakness. The thing is though, these are feelings that we all have. If emotions are something that we all have, does that make all of us weak? Of course not. Our society is just screwed up and suppressing our emotions is a social normality.

Judgement and criticism typically come when anyone expresses their raw self. Sure no one wants people to think negatively of them, but we’ve all really gotta stop giving a fuck about what others think. We are all living our own lives and we deserve to live it however we choose. Being whoever the hell you want to be will more than likely make other people uncomfortable. This will result in snarky comments, belittling, maybe a little jealousy or whatever. Remember that it is your life, not theirs. So really their opinion doesn’t have to mean anything unless you want it to.

From the open wounds to the cracks that have been mended, it is a beautiful thing for someone to share parts of their heart with the world. We have all experienced human emotions from gut wrenching loss, to feeling alone, to loving with everything we have. Were human, we all hurt, we all love, and we are all searching for something. It is easy to forget that we are not alone because of we’ve been taught not to talk about what were going through.  There are not many people out there who are living their life with zero fucks about what others think of them. You know what? We need more people like that.

To be the truest version of ourselves is what were all searching for, right? Letting the world know who you are and how you are feeling should be an act that calls for rejoicing, not criticism. We need to support each other on our journeys. We need those reminders that we are not alone. We need love. After all, we are all human.
